This project is an experiment in visualizing the transformation of time. Each day, I will apply different colors and substances to a white t-shirt. Each substance is intended to represent an emotion and/or mood. Likewise, I am changing daily with each experience.

  2. In the series Mass on my shirt by Soung, the aggressively painted areas of orange, purple and black piece will be discussed. It is on the top, ninth from left. The most immediately noticeable piece is the black footprint on the lower left. A purple streak hovers above, abstractly enclosing the footprint. The center to the right has a violent orange cradle of spray with the feeling of aggressive rubbing. The black to the far right seems to smother the orange’s voice to a muffle. The eyes are then drawn back to the lower center with a black painted hint of an upside-down hand print fanning down to a calming subdued blue horizontal line of piece. This because of the colors and composition this piece has a discorded, unresolved sense of balance. The artist could be giving us a glimpse into a full day or his view of life. There’s good, bad, neutral; all displayed in color and gesture. The specific placement shows where these areas exist and the spacial relationship shows how close an area of quiet gets to rage or distaste. This is a look into something as a whole.

  3. The fifth picture from the left is the picture I would like to comment on. In this picture soung's foot is caught in the action of footprinting paint onto a t-shit. The crinkles of the skin on the foot and the wrinkles of the shirt lead your eye throughout the photo smoothly. The bright colors of the paint contrast well with the white t-shirt and the black paint on the foot in the center of the image helps to focus your eye in the craziness that is brought about by the vivid colors. I would like to talk about this picture from a postmodernism perspective. The ascpects of this photo fit in very well with this perspective because the artist has completely invented the subject matter. In fact, the photo shows the artist in the action of inventing the subject matter. The idea of putting paint on his foot and then smashing it on the t-shirt shows the artist pursueing his own method of photography in an effort to construct this photo.
